1- Croatia Travel Blog Post, Zadar
These posts are going to be out of order but I am just so excited to share the photos from Croatia that I'll start here, especially because we only whipped out the DSLR when we got to Zadar so these photos will likely be a bit better quality then some of the other countries.

I am in love with Croatia. We really didn't know much about it at all before we went and were planning on going to Greece but there was some political issues going on while we were looking to book and figured it best to steer clear and find somewhere else that still had the rich history as well as the beautiful water and relaxing seaside towns- boy did we make a good choice. It was a tonne cheaper than Greece and we opted to rent Airbnb's along the way which I would absolutely recommend.

We flew into Zagreb after a 2 day saga with our flight being cancelled (more on that another time) and were so relieved to finally arrive at our destination but we didn't get to explore Zagreb much due to the lost time stuck in London and we pretty much only had one day to walk around. We caught a bus in the early morning to Zadar and fell in love pretty much instantly- the people in Croatia are some of the nicest we encountered on our whole trip and everything about the place felt exciting and relaxed all at the same time.
I'll let the photos do the talking but I will say this: to anyone considering Croatia as a destination - DO IT!

Croatia Travel Blog Post, Zadar- Salutations to the Sun
This was an art installation called 'Sun Salutations' which lit up at night as people walked all over it. On the steps was the sea organ which plays almost eerie noises as the waves crash against the concrete. I felt so so happy as Bryce and I sat on these steps, chatting away about life and talking about how the sea always makes us reflective. It was pretty busy but everybody seemed so relaxed, listening to the music and the water and I was utterly and completely content.

The airbnb we chose was absolutely fantastic. It was perfectly located right in the middle of everything and the lady who owned it even left us some liquor and Croatian biscuits for us to enjoy as well as a comprehensive list of food recommendations with a map. You can check it out here if you happen to be headed to Zadar and was looking for a good place.

It was crazy to have ancient ruins scattered all over the place. They were not really protected at all like in Rome, people were climbing, picnicking, and sitting all over them and most of the nights we were in Zadar, there were mini concerts in the square and everyone would just grab an ice cream or some dinner and sit and chat surrounded by all this history.

I seriously want to book another trip and go straight back to Croatia to keep exploring everything it has to offer. The next post will be some photos from our next stop, Split!
